How do you actually define being "out of the closet?" For example, a lot of my closer friends and parents know I like girls, and I'm pretty open about it. However, it's not something that most people at my school and my acquaintances are aware of. I know it's not important that every single person on this planet knows, but how do I let more people know without being crazy and announcing it on an intercom...?


That’s being out. You don’t have to go up to every single human being and tell them you’re gay, just like straights don’t go around saying that they’re straight to the world. As long as your comfortable addressing your sexuality to anyone who asks, you’re out.
